Code of Conduct

As we continue to engage in various activities and events under the auspices of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), I would like to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of always maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

Our events are designed to foster networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration within our industry. They provide us with valuable opportunities to connect with peers, learn from experts, and represent our organizations. As such, it is crucial that we all remember these gatherings are professional in nature and require us to conduct ourselves accordingly.

Professionalism at BOMA events encompasses several key aspects:

  • Respect and Courtesy: Treat all fellow members, speakers, and event staff with respect and courtesy. Our interactions should always reflect the values and integrity of our association.
  • Attire: Dress appropriately for the nature of the event. Business attire is generally recommended unless otherwise specified.
  • Responsible Drinking: If alcohol is served at an event, please drink responsibly. While it is perfectly acceptable to enjoy a beverage, excessive drinking can lead to unprofessional behavior. Let us ensure that our conduct remains exemplary, reflecting the respect and professionalism expected at BOMA events.
  • Punctuality: Arrive on time for meetings, presentations, and activities. Timeliness demonstrates respect for others’ time and contributes to the smooth running of our events.
  • Engagement: Actively participate in discussions, sessions, and networking opportunities.
  • Engage with others in a manner that is constructive and professional.
  • Representation: Remember that you are representing both BOMA and your own organization. Your behavior reflects on both entities, so it is important to uphold their reputations.

By adhering to these guidelines, we ensure that our events remain productive, respectful, and beneficial for all involved. Let us continue to build a positive and professional community within BOMA, one that supports our collective growth and success.
