How to Join


Our local association maintains a balanced ratio of Regular Members—including Property Managers and Building Owners—and Associate Members, such as vendors, contractors, and suppliers.

If this ratio is not currently met, Associate Member applications may be delayed. However, Associate Members can bypass the waiting list by joining alongside a Property Manager or Building Owner.

If you are not a Property Manager or Building Engineer, please select the “Vendor Waiting List” tab on the left to be added to the list.

Property Managers and Building Owners are granted membership immediately upon meeting the conditions outlined below and Board approval.

Membership Dues Schedule

Full-year membership dues apply to anyone joining between January and June of the current year.

If you join in July, August, or September, dues are pro-rated as follows:

  • Property Management Personnel: $320–$450 each
  • Service Providers/Vendors: $500–$575 each

For those joining between October and December, full-year dues are required; however, your membership will be applied to the following calendar year.



IMPORTANT NOTE

Only paid members are permitted to attend events. However, if you are a property manager, building owner, or building engineer, you can contact the BOMA office if you would like to attend a meeting before joining. The two exceptions are the Ron Macklin Memorial Open (golf tournament) and the TOBY Awards Ceremony, where attendance is encouraged for both members and non-members.

Remember that we do not support residential property management (no condos, HOAs, apartment complexes). We support commercial office, industrial, medical, and retail building property management.



Waiting List

There is a waiting list in order to keep our ratio of Regular Member (property management professional) and Associate Member (service providers/vendors) at a 50/50 ratio, but if you are able to bring a non-member Property Manager to join you can avoid the waiting list.

The Property Manager cannot have an existing membership with BOMA, yet another person in their firm who is not a current member would qualify.  Ask your commercial Property Manager clients (Office, Retail, Industrial and Medical building property management firm employees) if they know about BOMA and have them call the BOMA office at (561) 395-6664 if they are interested. If they join, you can too.

We also offer twice a year (in early spring and early fall), an offer to bypass the waiting list with a $3,000 sponsorship (not including the membership dues for one person).  If you are on the waiting list, you will receive an e-mail outlining the different sponsorships and what each offers in the way of brand recognition and exposure.

Adding an Additional Associate Member

An existing Associate (vendor) member firm may add an additional associate member for $800 when they also secure a new Regular Member ($565) or Corporate Member from an existing firm ($405) to join at the same time. This allows you to bypass the waiting list.

Please note: It is the responsibility of the Associate member to identify a Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager, or Building Engineer to join alongside them. Before proceeding, contact the BOMA Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beaches office to confirm the prospective member's eligibility and ensure another member has not already paid for their membership.
